Moving Water In A Still Image

North Fork White River One of my favorite things to do with running water or waterfalls is to make the water come alive in a still image! This particular image was taken in very low light early in the morning, therefore, I used a long shutter speed.  Actually, this photo was shot in manual mode at ISO 100, f5.6, at 5.0 seconds shutter speed.  I was just experimenting with a variety of settings to see what would happen.  This shutter speed may have been a little long, but I do like how the water seems to be racing down the river! Now, go grab your camera, find some waterfalls or moving water and start playing around with your settings.
